Generation Classes designed for older adults now offered at the VAC!

Getting older?  This guaranteed part of life is perhaps a tough pill to swallow, but we believe it's all about embracing your opportunites and aging gracefully.  A necessary component is your physical fitness routine.  To address this important need in the Vail community, the Vail Athletic Club has developed the Generation Program, a medley of classes designed specifically for older adults.  This program will grow to include more classes, and can also incorporate all facets of your vitality--meditation, yoga, nutrition, strength-training, cardiovascular exercise, therapeutic spa treatments, and nutrition.

Please join us for our Generation Classes and bring your friends!  Memberships and punchcards are available.  Here are our current class offerings:

Meditation Class - Mondays - 8-9:05 am -  Meditation is simply a willingness to witness. It is an invitation to watch yourself -your mind, your emotions, your body and environment - without reacting to what you observe. Success and failure are not a part of meditation, and there is nothing to expect.  Isn't there room in your life for a few moments of quiet time, where you demand nothing of yourself except attention to the moment? Of course there is...and more importantly, you deserve it!

Generation Fitness - Tuesdays and Thursdays - 9:30-10:30 am - Generation Fitness is a fitness class designed exclusively for older adults!  This is a very low impact class that is designed to increase strength, range of movement, agility, balance, and coordination.  As a group, participants will improve functional capacities, physical fitness level, and sense of well-being.

Generation Yoga - Fridays - 8-9:05 am - A yoga class designed specifically for older adults!  The benefits of yoga are now well known . . . lending our bodies strength and flexibility, and our minds some much-needed inner calm.  We will practice slow-paced vinyasas (movement thru poses with breath), and offer modifications to accommodate any aches or injuries.  And of course, there's plenty of time for questions and laughing in this social environment!  All levels are welcome—no experience required . . . at all!
